369-377 Old Harbor Rd., Chatham, MA, United States
The lighthouse was built in 1877 and still stands, safely guiding vessels across the water. This historic lighthouse also marks the point from which you can gain the most amazing views of the Atlantic and see "the break" which was created after severe winter storms.
You will find few spots on the entire East Coast of North America that can equal the view at The Light. Drive down Main Street to the lighthouse and park for a spell. You will meet many of your friends. You will see many cars from nearly every state as you gaze over the majestic Atlantic. For a close-up view try the public telescopes. Nearby is the Coast Guard Station ready to answer many emergencies involving distressed mariners, fishermen, or summer folk with problems on the water. Please observe and obey the parking signs as posted there. This is a fine spot to view the well-known Breakthrough in North Beach.
Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) was established in 1944 to provide habitat for migratory birds. Sand stretches for eight miles off the elbow of Cape Cod, forming the barrier islands of North and South Monomoy. In addition to the two islands, a 40-acre unit on Morris Island is also part of the refuge. This is where the headquarters and visitor center are located. The total size of the refuge is 7,604 acres with varied habitats of oceans, salt and freshwater marshes, dunes, and freshwater ponds of which 3,244 acres are designated Wilderness. The refuge provides important resting, nesting and feeding habitat for migratory birds, including the Federally protected piping plover and roseate tern. More than ten species of seabirds, shorebirds, and waterbirds nest on the islands. The refuge also supports the second largest nesting colony of common terns on the Atlantic seaboard with over 8,000 nesting pairs.
The Chatham Historical Society was organized in 1923. Three years later, the society acquired the Atwood House – a gambrel-roofed house built in 1752. Except for the addition of essential electricity, the old Atwood House is unchanged from when it was built and is furnished throughout as it was during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Over the years, museum galleries have been added to the original structure without affecting its integrity. As a result of the major expansion and renovation to the museum completed in 2005, there are now eight galleries with permanent exhibits, plus a large special exhibit gallery that doubles as a meeting room seating up to 100 people.
On the grounds are the mid-20th century Nickerson North Beach Camp, the Chatham School Bells display, a Wampanoag mishoon (dugout canoe), and the Chatham Light Display, featuring the lantern house from Chatham’s twin light with its original Fresnel lens, which flashes its beam whenever the museum is open.
Hardings Beach is the largest all-around family beach on the Lower Cape, just barely edging out Ridgevale Beach in South Chatham. It faces south on Nantucket Sound, which is characterized by its calm, warm waters, and is loaceted at the end of Hardings Beach Road (off of Barn Hill Road) in West Chatham. There are two parking lots, three life guard stations, a bathhouse with shower and food service trucks in each lot. Beach stickers for non-resident parking can only be purchased with cash at the on-site beach booth. Residents can purchase stickers at the booths or at the permit office at 283 George Ryder Road.
This is a wonderful beach for the game of your choice- beach bocce (a local specialty), volleyball, frisbee, wiffle ball, or just build a sand castle with the kids. A highlight here also is the hiking trail that extends behind the beach after the second parking lot.
The Monomoy Theatre, in association with Ohio University, University of Hartford and the Friends of Monomoy Theatre, is happy to celebrate over 55 years of summer theatre in Chatham, MA.
Unlike so many summer theaters where the students serve as apprentices with the task of supporting professional designers, technicians and performers, the Monomoy Theatre is a student driven operation. We engage professional theatre artists to serve, in a very real way, as teachers, mentors and examples for the students to follow and from whom the students can learn.

Artists who wanted to develop a company dedicated to creativity and professionalism founded Cape Rep Theatre in 1986 and have worked hard to choose plays and musicals that continually challenge the artists who work here. We have two theatres on 7 acres of land in Nickerson State Park in Brewster: a 135-seat Indoor Theater and Cape Cod’s only Outdoor Theatre, a 200-seat beauty. We produce a 5-play Indoor Theater season from May through December. During the summer, we use the Outdoor Theater for daytime children’s shows and in the evening, we produce more mature fare “under the stars.” We make a deliberate choice to bring in artists from outside our community to keep our vision broad, our company connected to the wider world and our productions as professional and creative as possible. We want to work with the best theater we can find.

If a view is what you are after, 28 Atlantic is hands down the place to go. Often, the food and service are compromised when a restaurant has such a spectacular view to fall back on, but this is far from the case here. It is pricey, but when all is said and done, 28 Atlantic is worth every penny.
Pisces Restaurant opened in April of 2001 with 40 seats in the dining room, and the full menu available at the cozy 5-seat bar, making it both a charming and intimate little restaurant with a bright and cheery feel. Named for a favorite restaurant in Barbados, this Chef owned restaurant features Coastal Cooking, with flavors and styles gathered from around the world. Our motto is “all good things come from the coast”.
Beginning with homemade rosemary foccacia and a garlicky white bean spread, everything at Pisces is made fresh and to order, including all of our desserts. Although the menu features mostly seafood, there is also an excellent selection of non-seafood items available, including steak, chicken and vegetarian fare as well. Our menu changes frequently to take advantage of the freshest local and seasonal ingredients, yet many signature items remain.
Our tables are set with crisp white linens, deep blue pepper mills, simple votives, and hand rolled parchment menus.
